Polyester Resin

New products

Saturated polyester resins are linear polyesters without double bonds in their backbone. They are widely used in coil and can coatings, automotive topcoats, and powder coatings due to their excellent flexibility, hardness, and chemical resistance.

Saturated polyester resins are produced by polycondensation of polyacids (e.g., adipic acid, isophthalic acid) with polyols (e.g., neopentyl glycol, trimethylolpropane). The selection of monomers controls Tg, gloss, and hardness.

The resin exhibits excellent mechanical strength and flexibility with high gloss and durability. These are resins are known for their weather and chemical resistance with good adhesion to metal substrates, and they are also compatible with melamine and blocked isocyanates crosslinkers.

Compared to TSA, TPA, alkyds and epoxies, saturated polyesters offer a balance of hardness and flexibility, improved film integrity on various substrates. Saturated polyester finds their application in Automotive coating, Can and Coil Coatings etc.
